This morning I read Never Let An Opportunity Pass You By — A Super Quick Hack That Works by Tim Denning.
Opportunity
I love this article for one basic reason. The encouragement to grab opportunity the moment it presents itself. I know I’m guilty of making a note, saying I'll get to it tomorrow. Only to see that little note a month later when either it’s too late, or I’ve moved on and simply don't have that initial burst of energy and momentum.
Now, truth be told, I’m pretty good at grabbing opportunity when it arises. But, I’m certainly not 100%. I’m re-committing to what Tim calls occasionally looking like a psycho.

“When I have a phenomenal idea that turns into a potential goal, I never leave the site of that goal without taking action. This habit means that I become obsessed with taking action and will ignore everything else in that moment. This makes me, on occasion, look like a psycho.”– Tim Denning
What Does Opportunity Look Like?
So, what does this look like for me? Well, for starters, it’s writing this blog post. I almost copied the link and put it with other articles that I wanted to write about. Then, the irony and absurdity of that action hit me. So, here I am, pounding out this post (with a minimal amount of editing) so I can seize this opportunity.
A couple weeks ago, I saw an opportunity to be interviewed on Facebook live by a fellow coach. I grabbed that opportunity and literally, in about 3 minutes, we were live on Facebook (and talking with each other for the first time!)

Is it scary to grab opportunities when they arise? Hell, yeah. Do those opportunities sometimes not work out the way I thought they would? Again, yeah. But, I’m so much more interested in living a life of , “Well, that didn't go as planned.” rather than “I wonder what would have happened if I had just...”
Where in your life are you holding back?
What opportunities are cruising right past you?
What would change if you started grabbing those opportunities?
I would love to hear your thoughts about this!

Is Lemonade Really Better than Lemons?
I had a wonderful opportunity to walk through a field of dewy grass early this morning. The sun was shining, there was a light breeze, it was simply a beautiful morning. OK, so what actually happened, I dropped my car off for repairs and couldn’t get an Uber, so I had to walk a mile […]
Holding Space for Myself
Last week my therapist and I had an intense discussion about holding space. He challenged me with, “Aimee, you’re really good at holding space for other people, but how are you holding space for yourself?” I was completely flummoxed. I literally stopped and just sat for several moments. I had no idea how to answer […]
Dreams
I absolutely love this song! So, what is dream that nibbles around the corners of your soul? What is that thing that you can’t say out loud, even to yourself? What is that thing that seems so audacious, so out there, so far from the life you’re living right now, so scary? You’re thinking about […]
Self Care
Let’s talk about self care. Real self care. Not the bubble bath, walk in the woods self care. That’s great, but sometimes you just don’t have time for all that. Sometimes, the dishes have to get done, the children need to be fed. The husband needs to be tended to. Sometimes, there just isn’t enough […]
Seasons
You know that line in Landslide? “Can I handle the seasons of my life?” I love that line! It speaks so clearly to the doubts and fears all of us have. And it speaks so clearly to why so many women settle into their lives and never embrace the power that is being their authentic […]
